Welcome to Bikes for Tanzania!

This webspace is dedicated to raising awareness about the Good Samaritan Centre (GSC)in Tanzania, as well as keeping people up to date on the progression of our fundraising bike trip across the country.

We first learned about the GSC in November, 2007, when we talked with a GSC volunteer in Bloomington, Indiana. We have since moved to Amherst, MA, but the idea of both a long-distance bike trip, and a fundraising effort for the GSC never left our minds.

The great thing about fundraising for (and donating to) the GSC is that a very small amount of money goes a very long way. A very minimal donation can make a significant difference, and a bunch of small donations could mean that they could build a new orphanage this year.

The GSC is also doing a number of extremely important and innovative things, including raising awareness about the AIDS/HIV pandemic, teaching sustanability and the importance of protecting the enviroment, and offering education, encouragement, and empowerment to Tanzanian youth.
